Fr Kevin Scallon on Ejjew Ghandi

"I invite everyone to pray the Heart of Jesus for the entire month of June and to support with closeness and affection your Priests so that they always reflect the image of that Heart full of Merciful Love"  Pope Francis

Prayer of St Theresa of Lisieux for Priests:

O Jesus, Eternal Priest, keep your priests within the shelter of your Sacred Heart where none may touch them.
Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Your Sacred Body.
Keep unsullied their lips, daily purpled with Your Precious Blood.
Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the Priesthood.
Let Your Holy Love surround them and shield them, from the world's contagion.
Bless their labours with abundant fruit and may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation here and in heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown.
Amen!

The Word Shared

Our sharing on the Gospel this Sunday:

1 Kings 17: 17-24;  Salm 29;  1 Gal 1: 11-19;  Luke 7: 11-17

Jesus is very near to us, He is concerned with our situations and filled with compassion, He comes to seek us and to bring life into our being right in those circumstances which to us at times seem hopeless.

The young man, sat up and began to talk. The Gospel doesn't say what the young man said but what is sure that whatever he said, made the people surrounding him praise God. Their crying turned to praise and worship to the living God. The young man sat in what was a hopeless circumstance and full of new life, praised God.

Today, allow Jesus to touch you and change your life, so you too can speak of His love, mercy and compassion in whichever circumstance you find yourself at this moment. What counts is not the circumstance you are in, but Who is present with you and giving you new life in your circumstance.

Like the young man and St Paul, may our words be words of hope that start a wave that brings life and joy to whoever hears them.

And as Mother Theresa says, once the Lord touches you, you in turn are sent to be His eyes, His hands, His feet, His heart wherever you are. Let us also remember the spiritual works of mercy, primarily that of interceding with God for others......where we can't reach, our prayer can reach....Amen!

God bless you!
